Drs. Michael and Susan Semmler
Dr. Mike Semmler graduated from the University of Nebraska with a biology degree in 1989. He then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated with a doctorate degree in optometry in 1994. He enjoys all of the outdoor activities that Arkansas has to offer, especially all of the beautiful lakes and state parks.
Dr. Susan Semmler graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in biomedical science. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and also graduated in 1994. She also enjoys the great outdoors.
Susan and Mike were married after graduation and have been in practice together in Hot Springs Village since 1996. They have two grown sons, Jonathan and Jacob. Jonathan is currently attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, and Jacob graduated from Middle Tennessee State with an aerospace degree and is becoming a professional pilot.
When they are not working at the office, you will find them doing home improvement projects, or enjoying one of the lakes or state parks in the area, along with their dog Sully. You will usually find Sully at the office, too.
Sondra Haynes, ABOC
Sondra’s optical career started in 1995. She obtained her Arkansas and American Board of Opticianry licenses in 2002. She joined the Eyecare Specialties team in 2018.
Sondra is married to husband John and together they have five children. She enjoys singing and playing the piano as well as jogging and volunteering with the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation. Crowned Mrs. Greater Hot Springs for 2015-2016, Mrs. Hot Springs Village in 2022 and 2023, she enjoys judging, competing and volunteering at pageants including Mrs. Arkansas America.
